Gary Shorrel has over 30 years of boating experience on the St. Croix and Upper Mississippi Rivers. Gary is a U.S. Navy veteran and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal by the Secretary of the Navy John H. Chafee. He also is the inventor of United States patent # US 6,327,143 B1. Radial Computer System and Method. After retiring as Director of Engineering for a leading high performance computer company he wanted to put his technical knowledge to use in the boating industry. Marine surveying was a natural path to pursue in that like computer engineering boats contain complex systems requiring an in-depth technical understanding of systems operation. Midwest Marine Surveyors LLC was started in 2005 and has become a well known marine surveying firm in the upper midwest. Midwest Marine Surveyors LLC marine surveys are comprehensive and technically accurate. Survey reports are written to Title 33 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, American Boat and Yacht Council technical standards and to National Fire Protection Association recommendations.
