Damage Survey - Repair Oversight
This survey is usually done at the request of an Underwriter. The marine surveyor acts as the eyes and ears of the claims manager in the field. The surveyor gathers the facts and acts as a liaison between the boat owner, repairer and claims manager.

Estimates of repair are reviewed to ensure they are fair and accurate and pertain to the loss.

Often times a vessel owner will instruct a surveyor to be his advocate in the event of a loss to act as their eves and ears during the repair process.
