The surveyor paints a realistic picture of the operation being underwritten. He inspects Certificates of Inspection, alcohol policy, first aid practices, fire drills, etc. He interview captains and crew, looks for potential areas of liability including danger of tripping and falling, bad lighting, food preparation etc.

Sub Chapter T 46 CFR and US Coast Guard regulation compliance are discussed.
