Marine Surveys by Peter McGuire SAMSŽ AMSŽ

Peter McGuire SAMSŽ AMSŽ is the owner and principal surveyor of Fastnet Yacht Surveys Limited.

He has a B.Sc. (honours) in engineering (Southampton, U.K.) and is a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) in the province of Ontario, Canada.

Originally a member of the "Canadian Association of Marine Surveyors" (now defunct), Peter joined SAMSŽ (the "Society of Accredited Marine SurveyorsŽ") in 1996 as a "Surveyor Associate". Peter successfully completed his "Yacht and Small Craft" accreditation examination in 1998 and is presently the Canadian Regional Director of SAMSŽ.

Peter is also an ABYCŽ Standards Certified Marine Technician and a Transport Canada "Tonnage Measurer", appointed to perform tonnage surveys on vessels up to 24 meters in length.

Peter has extensive knowledge of the pleasure boat and small craft industry and is the owner of a 30' "Albin Ballad" sailboat which he sails out of the Etobicoke Yacht Club in Toronto, Ontario.
