Work Experience

1984 - Present Owner and President, Eve Marine Surveyors, Inc., Savannah, Georgia. Representation of numerous marine insurance companies conducting condition and valuation surveys and claim investigations. We provide damage estimates on all types of pleasure and commercial vessels, power and sail. We also provide supervision of marine restoration and repairs on numerous vessels.
1990 - 1991 Williams and Eve Marine Surveyors, Savannah, Georgia. Firm specialized in both hull and general cargo. Additionally, we handled marine claims for both the underwriters and shipping companies. Types of cargo, wire rod, steel coils, plywood, and various types of equipment and machinery.
1979 - 1984 Owner, Eve Marine Service, Savannah, Georgia. At intervals between times listed below, I owned and operated my own yacht repair service. I operated Eve Marine Service until 1983 conducting general repairs and maintenance to sail and power boats and commercial vessels and major yacht renovations and restorations. I purchased Hull and Cargo Company, founded in 1969 by Captain Joseph Dimock, in 1983. Captain Dimock remained an associate until 1988, at which time, he retired. I renamed the company Eve Marine Surveyors, Inc., in 1984.
1977 - 1978 Palmetta Bay Marina, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Yard Manager - Responsible for the management and supervision of a full-service marine yard which consisted of two marine travel lifts, a large enclosed repair facility with a parts department, a paint shed and administrative offices. The yard offered a full range of services to include engine repair and replacement, standing and running rigging replacement, fiberglass reconstruction repairs, full paint jobs, and general/annual maintenance to power and sailboats. Other responsibilities included commissioning vessels and developing estimates for repair.
1975 - 1977 Tidewater Boatworks, Inc. Thunderbolt, Georgia. Yard Foreman - Responsible for the management and supervision of a full-service marine yard consisting of a full ship's store, travel lift and a marine railway, paint shed and engine repair shop. The yard offered a range of services to include the restoration, repair and maintenance on a variety of pleasure and commercial boats. Other responsibilities included commissioning vessels and developing estimates for repair.
1972 - 1975 Baker Yachts, Savannah, Georgia Yard Manager - Responsible for: (1) commissioning of new sailboats, (2) supervision of repair and maintenance on other boats and managed yard operations, (3) maintenance of the physical property which included a two-story building, shop and railway, and (4) supervision of hauling of approximately (150) sailboats yearly on a marine railway which included general repairs.
1964 - 1968 U.S. Navy, Admirals Staff (ComCar Div Nine), North Island, California/South China Sea/Viet Nam. Quartermaster - Served (4―) six-month tours in Vietnam at sea, aboard various aircraft carriers, South China Sea, Tonkin Gulf. The Admirals Staff was responsible for coordinating naval air strikes into Vietnam. Responsibilities included performing duties related to ships navigation and movement reports.
