Condition and Valuation Survey:My primary service is the preparation of a condition and valuation survey which is suitable for both pre-purchase and insurance purposes. A survey report typically runs twenty to thirty pages and includes several pages of captioned photographs of the boat. Consultation: I also do a more limited inspection on a consultation basis for buyers who are narrowing down their choices. This typically involves one to two hours on the boat and comments are conveyed verbally; no report is written. Damage Survey: A damage survey is limited to the documentation of the results of a specific accident or event.
Engine Oil Analysis:Engine oil analysis involves drawing fluids from the engine and/or transmission, submitting them to a lab and interpreting the results. This is useful to determine the extent of wear on internal engine components. Sea Trial: Sea trials are done to observe the behavior of the boat while underway. A qualified captain must be provided to operate the vessel. My role is strictly to observe and report. Appraisal of fair market value: Appraisal of fair market value is done for donation purposes, divorce, and estate settlement. |
